Search

Search is where you find people to reach. Describe who you’re after in plain English, or set the filters yourself, then save the good ones to a list.

See how to find and filter leads in Flow.

Describe who you want

Type what you’re looking for into the search bar in plain English — for example, “Fractional CFOs at 11–50 person software companies in Denver.” Flow reads it, builds the matching filters, and returns verified LinkedIn profiles.

You’re not limited to a rigid form — describe the role, seniority, industry, location or company size the way you’d say it out loud, and refine from there.

Describe your ideal customer, or set the filters, then run the search.

Or set the filters yourself

Prefer to be precise? Use the filters on the left: Name or keywords, Industry, Job Title, Location, and Connection status (1st, 2nd or 3rd degree). Advanced search opens more options for tighter targeting.

LinkedIn or the Flow Database

Above the filters, a switch chooses where Flow searches:

  • LinkedIn runs a live LinkedIn search through your own connected account. If your account has Sales Navigator, Flow uses it automatically and you get the advanced filters (seniority, function, headcount and more). On a free account, Flow runs a classic LinkedIn search.
  • Flow Database searches Flow’s own contact database instead. It isn’t affected by LinkedIn’s search limits, so it’s the best option on a free LinkedIn account. It’s in beta, so results can vary.

The line next to the switch tells you which search you’re running.

Search limits and seat types

Your LinkedInWhat you get in Flow
Free (Classic)Classic LinkedIn search with the core filters. LinkedIn limits free accounts to around 250 search results a month, after which searches return few or no people. Use the Flow Database once you hit it.
PremiumSearches like Classic. Premium doesn’t add Sales Navigator filters.
Sales NavigatorLive Sales Navigator search with the advanced filters and far more results.

You don’t need LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator to use Flow. On top of LinkedIn’s own limits, Flow applies a daily safety cap to search on each account. If you see “Daily search limit reached for this account”, try again tomorrow. Getting few or no results? See Troubleshooting.

Save leads to a list

Tick anyone worth talking to and add them to a list. Lists are what you run outreach on, so a good list is the start of every campaign. To bring in people you’re already connected with, set Connection status to 1st. When you’re ready, head to Run outreach (autopilot).
