The sales messages that work on LinkedIn rarely look like sales messages. They open with genuine interest in the person's world, they assume the reader knows their own business best, and they ask for a conversation rather than a commitment.
Lead with understanding, not features. A stranger listing what their product does, to someone who never asked, reads as noise. A stranger who clearly looked into your work and asks a real question reads as someone worth replying to.
Give an easy out. Counter-intuitively, telling someone there is no pressure and offering a low-friction option ('or I can just send a few thoughts over') tends to lift reply rates, because it hands control back to the reader.
